The Weekender: September 15 - 17

Feels like fall! Slowly giving in to autumn activities this weekend, starting with apple picking! Here are a few other things that caught our eye:

Sunflower Fest: Yup, we shared this last week, but the sunflower field is now in full bloom at Dancing Grain Farm Brewery in Moreau, and it’s a sight to behold! Grab a drink and enjoy the view. Details here.

Shred Day: Not the most exciting thing on the list, but actually maybe it is? :) The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Annual Community Shred Day on Saturday from 9-11am. Don’t know about you but we’ve got a box or two of things that need to be shredded and we’re pretty excited to get rid of them! It’s free with the donation of at least one non-perishable food item per shred box to benefit The Open Door Mission. Details here.

Fire Pit with a View: The Fort William Henry is offering fire pit rentals this season! Cozy up around the fire with a view of the lake and a s’more, along with a dedicated server to grab your drinks. Sounds great to us! Learn more and make your reservation here.

Apple Picking: ‘Tis the season! We’re headed out for our first round of picking this weekend, and if you’re going to, here’s a roundup of our favorite local apple orchards and any changes for this season (lots of orchards either lost their crop or have a reduced crop due to a late frost this year). Pass the apple pie!

Have a great weekend,
Bri + Tom
