A collaboration between the Glens Falls Collaborative and the Glens Falls Business Improvement District, they’ll be providing the garbage bags, gloves, rakes, and shovels. Oktoberfest at Northway Brewing: Head to Northway Brewing in Queensbury this Saturday from 3-7pm for live music, food vendors, and over 30 breweries, wineries, and distilleries - get the scoop here!

Wool & Arts Festival: Another festival this weekend! The Adirondack Wool and Arts Fest is held at the Washington County Fairgrounds and features over 100 local artisans and their crafts, including wool, pottery, wood, and lots more. Sunflower Fest: Yup, we shared this last week, but the sunflower field is now in full bloom at Dancing Grain Farm Brewery in Moreau, and it’s a sight to behold! Grab a drink and enjoy the view. Details here.

Shred Day: Not the most exciting thing on the list, but actually maybe it is? :) The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Annual Community Shred Day on Saturday from 9-11am. Don’t know about you but we’ve got a box or two of things that need to be shredded and we’re pretty excited to get rid of them! It’s free with the donation of at least one non-perishable food item per shred box to benefit The Open Door Mission. Details here.

 

Fire Pit with a View: The Fort William Henry is offering fire pit rentals this season! Cozy up around the fire with a view of the lake and a s’more, along with a dedicated server to grab your drinks. Sounds great to us! Learn more and make your reservation here.

 
 

Apple Picking: ‘Tis the season! We’re headed out for our first round of picking this weekend, and if you’re going to, here’s a roundup of our favorite local apple orchards and any changes for this season (lots of orchards either lost their crop or have a reduced crop due to a late frost this year). Quality Time With Your Pup: This week was a really tough one for us, as our beloved yellow lab, Max, passed away. In Max’s honor, we’d love to suggest spending a little extra quality time with your pup (or any pet, for that matter) this weekend. Give in to another five minutes of belly rubs, extend your walk an extra block or two, or play a few more rounds of fetch. And please give them an extra pat from us. There’s nothing like the unconditional love of a dog.

Sunflower Fest: It’s that time! The sunflower blooms are just starting to open at Dancing Grain Farm Brewery in Moreau, so this weekend they will be showing off their sunflower field in addition to their craft brews! Details here.

Vette Fest: If Corvettes are your thing, you’ll want to check out Vette Fest this Sunday from 10am-2pm on Maple Street between The Queensbury Hotel and City Park. Details here!

Antique Weekend at The Farm Store at Tiashoke: Did you catch our First Look at The Farm Store at Tiashoke last fall (here’s the link for a refresher!)? They’ve filled the barn’s basement with antiques this year, and this weekend they’re hosting an Antique Festival, complete with additional antique vendors, local makers and bakers, a food truck, and an antique car show on Sunday from 11am-2pm! If you’ve never been to a performance, we’d highly recommend it - we went last night and had the most wonderful time. Lake George Music Festival: Speaking of beautiful music, the Lake George Music Festival kicks off this weekend as well! Taking place in the newly renovated Carriage House at the Fort William Henry, the Festival offers the opportunity to experience exceptional classical music within a historic and picturesque setting, overlooking the Lake. The Weekender: June 30 - July 2

Happy 4th of July weekend! We’re excited to make the most of the holiday weekend and hope you are too. We’ve got big plans for blueberry pie, drinks on the porch, and of course, fireworks and festivities. Other than that, here’s what looks good:

 
 
 
 
 

Summer Concerts in the Park: The Park Theater’s Friday night concert series at the Crandall Park Bandshell begins this week at 7pm with the three part female harmony of The Ladles! And bonus — Tres Mijas Mexican Food Truck will be on site as well! Details here.

Music on the Mountain: Head to West Mountain this Saturday from 6-10pm for live music, food and drink, activities, and of course, fireworks! Find the details here.

Summer Pops + Fireworks at Crandall Park: One of everyone’s favorite hometown events, the Glens Falls Symphony will perform their annual Summer Pops Concert at the Crandall Park Bandshell on Monday, July 3 at 7:30pm followed by fireworks at dusk. Adirondack Theatre Festival: ATF’s first show of the season, The Last Wide Open — a romantic comedy with a “Groundhog Day” twist — opens this week. The show runs June 28 - July 8, so grab your tickets here!

Ozzy Fest: Calling all animal lovers! Our friends at ONE on 1 Design are hosting a donation event on Saturday from 10am-3pm — drop off pet supplies that will be donated to two local rescue adoption services (North Shore Animal Shelter in Glens Falls and Estherville Animal Shelter in Greenfield Center) and peruse local vendors while snacking on kettle corn and ice cream sandwiches. Strawberry Picking: Have you been yet? We’re hoping to get out this weekend - strawberry shortcake is calling our name! Here’s a roundup of local u-pick farms to check out if you’re in the mood for fresh berries!

Adirondack Theatre Festival: Not this weekend, but now’s the time to start thinking about grabbing your tickets to ATF’s first show of the season, The Last Wide Open — a romantic comedy with a “Groundhog Day” twist. The show runs June 28 - July 8, so grab your tickets here!

 
 

Adirondack Wine and Food Festival: Kick off summer at the lake with over 120 of the state’s best wineries, breweries, distilleries; artisan food vendors, live entertainment, kids activities, and more. And bonus - Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks receives a portion of every ticket sold. Find the details and get your tickets here.

 

Round Lake Antiques and Vintage Festival: Head south to Round Lake this Saturday and Sunday from 9am - 5pm to browse vintage and antique treasures from nearly 100 vendors. Food trucks, too! Find the details here.

The Weekender: June 16-18

Almost Friday! There’s plenty to keep you busy in Glens Falls this weekend! Here’s hoping the rain holds off for these fun events…

 
 
 

LARAC Arts Festival: Everyone’s favorite downtown event is finally here! With 130 artist exhibitors, you’ll find fine art, textiles, home decor, and more - plus live music, food vendors, and activities for the kiddos. Details here!

Concerts in the Park: The Park Theater’s Summer Concert Series is back this summer, and they’re kicking off the series with a special night at The Barn at French Mountain featuring Dr. Funke’s 100% Good Time Natural Family Band on Friday, June 16 from 7-8:30pm. Find the details here, and stay tuned for the rest of the series which will be held at Crandall Park!

Aloha 5K: It’s not too late to sign up for Glens Falls Hospital’s Aloha 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk to benefit Amanda’s House (find out a bit more about Amanda’s House and its positive impact on the community in our recent story here). It’s scheduled for Saturday, June 17 at Haviland’s Cove Park with an off-street course winding along the Feeder Canal. Click here to learn more and sign up - online sign up ends at midnight tonight (Thursday), but you can still sign up in person the day of the race. Don’t forget to wear your best Hawaiian gear!

Father’s Day: Have you made your Father’s Day plans? Treat Dad to dinner on one of our favorite patios in town - Park and Elm, Morgan and Company, or the Park Patio and Fenimore’s at The Queensbury Hotel!
