Happy New Year! Feels like it’s been a bit of a perpetual weekend the last two weeks with the holidays, but another one is upon us! Here’s what sounds good to us:
Have a great weekend! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 2020.

Happy New Year! Feels like it’s been a bit of a perpetual weekend the last two weeks with the holidays, but another one is upon us! Here’s what sounds good to us:
We’re not huge on fitness resolutions, but it always feels good to get up, get out, and move a little bit after all of that holiday food. A long walk in Crandall Park hit the spot for us on New Year’s Day, but we’re itching for something a little longer this weekend. Moreau Lake is always a nice local option… Would love to hear if you have any nearby favorites!
We’re planning our next road trip (stay tuned!), but if you’re in the mood for a drive this weekend, check out our itineraries for Ballston Spa, Cambridge, Granville, and more here.
Crandall Pond isn’t quite ready for skating yet, but there’s an open skate this Friday and Sunday at the Glens Falls Rec Center and since Tom was just saying he’s not sure he can skate, I may just send him over to practice ;) Details here.
Where are you headed this weekend? We haven’t been to Raul’s in a while so that’s our pick for the week! You just can’t go wrong with a margarita and some chips and guac. Here’s their menu!
Have a great weekend! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 2020.
Bri + Tom
Happy weekend, and Merry Christmas! We hope you had the happiest of holidays, and that you’re still enjoying time with family (and lots of leftover Christmas cookies). We’re still holding on to the Christmas spirit over here, so the holiday tunes and movies are going to keep rolling for at least a few more days :) That said, here’s a few things that might lure us away from the Christmas tree:
Have you checked out The Park Theater’s Comedy After Dark series? They’ve got great comedians headlining each month (like Erik Bergstrom this Friday night!), and pairing the show with dinner and/or a cocktail at Doc’s sounds like the perfect post-holiday date night. Details here.
Comfort food and beer - the perfect combo for your post-holiday agenda! Sample stews from participating Lake George restaurants while sipping your favorite brews from Common Roots. Grab all of the details here.
Tom is wasting no time getting to the new Star Wars movie (he’s walking out the door as I type this!), and it looks like our pals at Alchemy Bagel, Darling Doughnuts, and Muffin Top Baker are getting into the spirit as well with Star Wars themed doughnuts and cookies at their pop-up shop. Grab the scoop here!
What are your plans?! If you’re looking for something to do downtown, there are still tickets left for The First Night of Funny at The Wood Theater, as well as the fabulous NYE Celebration at The Queensbury Hotel. If a delicious dinner out is more your thing, consider this your reminder to make your reservations for your favorite restaurant now! And if you’re up for bottomless mimosas on New Year’s Day, Downtown Social is your place with their Jazz Brunch.
Have a great weekend, and Happy New Year!
Bri + Tom
We’re counting down the days ‘til Christmas (and simultaneously not quite sure how it snuck up so quickly!). This week on The Weekender, we’re switching things up in the spirit of the season and sharing a little pre-Christmas Bucket List. Amidst the holiday hustle and bustle, we’re hoping you’ve got time to pause, enjoy the simple things, and connect with friends and family. Here are a few ideas:
Cruise for Christmas Lights: Grab a cup of hot chocolate, put on the Christmas tunes, and take a ride to see our little city neighborhoods decorated for Christmas - the annual display on Clayton Avenue by the High School is always a great place to start!
Bake Cookies (and surprise your neighbors with a plate!): If it’s Christmas, you can guarantee Bri will be baking too many cookies. You too? Share some with a neighbor or someone unexpected! There’s no time like the holidays for a little unexpected act of kindness - and in the form of cookies? Even better!
Shop Small: Calling all last minute shoppers! Instead of placing that online order (will it even arrive in time?!), head downtown or to The Shirt Factory and support your local small business owner. So many great options!
See Santa: One last chance to let the big guy know your Christmas wishes! He’ll be at the Glens Falls Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning. Details here.
Watch a Christmas Movie: Bri loves a good Hallmark Christmas movie, and we can never pass up Home Alone, but the 1970 version of Scrooge with Albert Finney might just be our favorite. Would love to hear yours!
Honor our Troops: Show your support for soldiers who won’t be home for the holidays at the Christmas Eve Road March on Tuesday at 9am - get all of the details here.
Build a Gingerbread House: Always loved doing this as a kid and we were happy to see that the World Awareness Children’s Museum is hosting a Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop on Christmas Eve! Details here.
Send your Christmas Cards: Email and texting are great, but there’s something about sending and receiving a good old fashioned card that still wins us over. There’s still time to mail your cards! Or at least we hope so, since we’re putting ours in the mail in the morning ;)
Wishing you and yours a very Happy Holiday!
Bri + Tom
Happy weekend! How’s the holiday prep going? We’ve got the tree and we’re looking forward to enjoying a cocktail and a few cookies while we decorate it this weekend. By the way, if you don’t have yours yet - we shared a round up of some great local tree farms and stands here! Anyway, shopping is another story and we’re hoping to get that started this weekend too. What are you up to? Here’s a few festive ideas:
If you missed it a few weeks ago, here’s your second chance! Four floors of shops and guest vendors galore - it’s the perfect spot to put a dent in your holiday shopping and support local artisans and businesses. Details here!
If you missed the Greenwich Tractor Parade a couple of weeks back (and even if you didn’t!), head out to Granville this Friday night to catch the parade rolling through the village beginning at 6:30pm. Grab all of the info here, and while you’re in town, check out some favorites from our Granville Travel Guide!
Did you know that LARAC has a Holiday Shop downtown?! Stop in on Saturday for Brunch and Shopping - teas and treats while you browse - and bonus discounts for everyone! Get the scoop here.
Bri’s in the mood to bake this weekend, and if you are too, check out a couple of the treats in our Recipe Swap series, like this delish Coconut Creme pie recipe from our neighbor Jen Gohn, or this dangerously good blueberry crumb cake that our family swears by!
Have a great weekend!
Tom + Bri
Happy weekend! We’ve been watching the lights being strung and the wreaths and bows being hung downtown over the past week, and with a little snow on top of it all, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here! We’re psyched for a weekend of holiday events, and even more excited to deck our halls and trim our tree this weekend. What are you up to? Here are a few ideas:
We’re excited to welcome the holidays downtown this weekend with the tree lighting in City Park, live music and carolers, photos with Santa, a free screening of The Grinch, and lots more! Grab all of the details here.
If you love charming small towns and historic homes as much as we do, you’ll want to check out the Greenwich Tour of Homes this Sunday! Owners of seven historic houses in the village open their doors to the community for holiday tours and refreshments, and bonus - the proceeds benefit Comfort Food Community. Details and tickets here!
We missed this last year but heard it was a huge success, so we’re looking forward to checking it out this weekend. Just like the holiday markets in Europe (Christkindlmarkt is German for Christmas market!), they’ll have local artisans, food vendors, live music, and lots for the kiddos. Grab all the info here!
There’s an Adirondack Thunder hockey game on Friday night (bring a non-perishable item to donate and you receive a free ticket to the Friday Dec 20th game!), there’s a Gingerbread House Decorating event on Saturday at Alchemy Bagel (reserve your spot here), there’s a Santa Brunch on Sunday at Morgan and Co… and lots more!
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
Happy Thanksgiving! We hope yours was filled with the people, pets, and pies that you love the most. What are you up to this weekend? Whether you’re Black Friday shopping, decorating the tree, or extending the Thanksgiving holiday a bit longer like we are, we hope it’s a good one. Here are a couple of things to get the holidays started right:
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to stroll amongst a wonderland of trees, wreaths, and holiday decor? Check it out this weekend at The Queensbury Hotel - here are the details.
What’s better than shopping small? Shopping small and sampling some local craft brews! Sign us up. Get the scoop here, and be sure to be one of the first 60 people to stop by Fountain Square Outfitters on Saturday after 11am to snag a sweet free tote!
Looking forward to shopping small this weekend at the Holiday Open House at The Shirt Factory! Four floors of shops and guest vendors galore - it’s the perfect start to the holiday season and a great way to support small local businesses. Details here.
Hope you’ve had a great week! It’s hard to believe that we’re only a week away from Thanksgiving, but we’re definitely feeling the holiday spirit sneaking up on us. Other than deciding what pies we’ll be baking next week, here’s what caught our eye this weekend…
Over 70 tractors + 1,000 holiday lights = pure Christmas magic in Greenwich this weekend. Take a drive out to Washington County on Saturday night to watch the parade file through the village - details here!
The South Glens Falls Holiday Parade kicks off at 1pm on Sunday, traveling up Route 9 from Carriage Traders to Stewart’s. And the Common Roots Temporary Taproom just so happens to be on the parade route and will be hosting a pop-up brunch starting at 11am! Details on that here.
We just stumbled across Ledge Rock Hill Winery on Instagram and it looks like a pretty cozy spot to spend an afternoon! Looks like they’re only open for a few more weekends this year, so we’re hoping to get there before they close for the season. Grab their info here!
Shopping for Thanksgiving at the Glens Falls Farmers Market, a Meatloaf Tribute Band at The Park, Sunday brunch at [farmacy] or Morgan? So much to do, so little time ;)
Happy weekend! How was your week? Kinda chilly, eh? This is about the time of year Tom and I start discussing the fact that I need to learn to ski - otherwise I’ll be hibernating by the fire until April. But I digress - here are a few things that might just get us away from the fireplace this weekend:
’Tis the season! Start your holiday shopping early at the Art Market on Saturday (featuring local artists and makers) AND have a beer or two while you’re at it. Win-win! Here are all of the details.
Did you catch our First Look at the new Grey Ghost space on Lawrence Street? They’re celebrating their new digs (along with the opening of Kind Cycling downstairs!) with a party on Friday night - details here.
Friday is Opening Night at the LARAC Holiday Shop! Another great opportunity for a head start on holiday shopping with plenty of local makers offering unique gifts you won’t find anywhere else. Here’s the scoop.
Wine and Chocolate - need we say more? Sample 70+ wines along with everyone’s favorite sweet treat at The Queensbury on Friday night to benefit The Chapman Museum. Details and tickets here!
Happy weekend! We’re holding on to these golden views, but word on the street is that the first snowflakes are set to fly tonight. Can’t say we’re ready, but there’s also no denying the excitement that comes along with those first few flurries of the season - so we’ll go with it :) In addition to cozying up by the fire this weekend, here’s what caught our eye:
Calling all Harry Potter fans (and fans of amazing baked goods!). Three of our favorites (Alchemy Bagel, Darling Doughnuts, and The Muffin Top Baker) are teaming up for a pop-up event on Saturday with all of the Harry Potter themed sweets you could hope for. Grab the details here!
It’s a big music weekend downtown with the third year of The Summit Music Festival kicking off on Friday night, presented by Wild Adriatic. With an awesome line-up of bands (including one of our local favorites, The East End Boys!) it’s sure to be a great time. Get all the info here.
The home team is back in town for another couple of games this weekend - Friday and Sunday! Head here for tickets. And bonus for the kids - Sunday is Marvel Super Hero Day, complete with a pre-game meet and greet with Spiderman - details here! P.S. Did you catch our chat with Thunder forward Conor Riley? Read it here.
Sunday afternoon plans - couch, cozy fire, and snacks (…and football). Have you popped into Birch Bark Eatery in their new location downtown? The Cauli Bites are a favorite of ours, and we’re thinking they might also be the perfect snack to enjoy back at home fireside. Check out their menu here.
Happy weekend and Happy Halloween! Hope you’re staying dry and enjoying all of your favorite candy - we’re sneaking a few Twix and Snickers in between trick or treaters ourselves :)
With all of the leaves coming down tonight, raking is definitely on the agenda this weekend, and here’s what else looks good…
’Tis the season for curling up with a good book, and what better place to stock up on a few good reads than the Chronicle Book Fair. With over 120 authors, there’s definitely something for everyone. It’s on Sunday from 11a-3p and admission is free! Details here.
It’s never too early to start your holiday shopping (might this be the year we finish before Christmas Eve?!), and the LARAC Fall Arts Festival might be the perfect place to get a head start. With over 65 artisans, there’s most definitely a gift for everyone on your list. Grab the scoop here.
A place for you to ditch the pumpkins post-Halloween (via catapult, no less!) AND enjoy a couple of brewskis around a bonfire - sign us up! There’s also an apple slingshot, if that’s your thing :) Live music and activities for the kids, too. Here are the details!
Just in case you haven’t had enough sweets this week (we haven’t!), Darling Doughnuts will be at Common Roots on Saturday night for another of their popular doughnut and beer pairings! Get there early, she’ll sell out! Get the details here.
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
P.S. If you’re up for a Sunday drive this weekend, we shared some favorites from a recent trip to Bennington here.
Happy weekend to you! We did a little double take as we looked at the calendar - Halloween definitely snuck up on us this year, and while it’s not ’til next Thursday, we were happy to see some fun Halloween events on the calendar this Saturday and Sunday. We’ll be stocking up on candy for the trick-or-treaters this weekend, and here’s what else is going on:
Can’t believe it’s already the last outdoor market of the year! We’ve got pumpkins and winter squash on our list for Saturday morning - which by the way, they’ve dubbed “The Great Pumpkin Festival” - so we can’t wait to see what other pumpkin goods they have in store. The Market continues indoors at Sanford Street starting next weekend (November 2) thru April!
There are two fundraising walks for great causes stepping off in Glens Falls and Queensbury this weekend - Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s (which John talked about in this week’s My Glens Falls). Even if you can’t make it to the walk, both are accepting donations online!
There’s a Thunder hockey game on Friday night, Comedy After Dark at The Park Theater on Friday night too, Fright Fest at The Great Escape on Friday and Saturday, or just a good old fashioned night at home by the fire with wine and a piece of pumpkin pie.
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
Hope you’ve had a great week! We made it through yesterday’s dreary weather and it looks like there’s three nice days on the horizon this weekend and lots going on - here’s what’s doin’:
The ADK Film Fest is this weekend! With over 100 films spread across six screens in four venues downtown (The Q, The Park, The Wood, and Crandall Library), there’s literally something for everyone. Grab a pass for one day or the entire weekend here - should be a fun weekend downtown!
Hockey is back! The Thunder play their first home game of the season this Saturday at 7pm, and we are psyched for a great season ahead. If you’re going, grab tickets here (or an opening night four pack here). Go Thunder! And in case you missed it, catch the first story in our Hockey Town series here.
On the agenda in Fort Edward this Saturday - Locktoberfest! Farmers, artisans, vendors, food, and a craft beverage tasting tent? Sounds like a pretty perfect Saturday afternoon. What’s more you ask? Live music and plenty of activities for the kiddos. Grab the scoop here.
Have you picked your pumpkins yet? We stopped by The Farm Stand at Tiashoke Farms in Easton a few weeks back and it makes the perfect Sunday drive. They’ve got a pumpkin house (complete with a cornstalk roof!), a huge selection of 50+ varieties of pumpkins and a picturesque setting (you can see photos in this post Bri wrote on her blog The Yellow Note). Here are their details. Happy pickin’!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
Hope you’ve had a great week! The forecast this weekend looks perfect, and we’re thinking about heading out for a hike to enjoy the foliage, and rewarding ourselves with some apple pie. How about you? Here’s what else looks good to us this weekend:
After our experience on the Open Studios Tour in Washington County this summer (read about that here!), we were pretty taken with the talented artists we visited, their gorgeous work, and the beautiful farmland we traveled through. Landscapes for Landsake combines these into an amazing art exhibition featuring over 40 local artists that benefits the Agricultural Stewardship Association (whose mission is to conserve and protect the region’s farmland). Buy gorgeous art, and save local farms - win-win! Grab the details here.
The forecast this weekend calls for being outside, so we were psyched to see West Mountain’s Fall Festival on the calendar for this Saturday and Sunday (and next weekend, too!). Looks like they’ve got a little something for everyone - wagon rides, chair lift rides, hikes, a petting zoo, pony rides, food, and brewery + distillery tastings. Sounds good to us! Here are the details.
It’s opening week at Seasoned (the restaurant of SUNY ADK’s culinary arts program), and they are coming right out of the gate with a Guest Chef Dinner this Saturday night featuring Chef Tim Spedding and Louise Rødkjær Jørgensen of Rascal and Thorn! Snag your tickets here, and if you can’t make it on Saturday, definitely plan to check them out this season - they serve lunch and dinner on Wednesday and Thursday through December 5.
We’ve always wanted to go to a murder mystery dinner, and this one sounds like a blast. It starts with a silent clown’s act going awfully awry (which is particularly creepy) and what better than enjoying a delicious dinner while you figure out whodunit?! Check out the details and purchase tickets here.
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
P.S. If you’re looking to head out apple picking this weekend, here are five local orchards you might want to try!
Hi there and happy weekend! The apples are picked, the mums and pumpkins are planted, and we’re thinking it might even be time for the first fire of the season this weekend. Fall is in the air for sure, and we’re ready to soak it in this weekend. What are you up to? Here are a few things that caught our eye:
We’re celebrating our anniversary this weekend, and since we were married on Lake George it seems only fitting to do a little something at the lake to celebrate. We haven’t been out on the Minne Ha Ha yet this season (one of our favorite staycation-y things to do), so this might just be the weekend (and the colors are starting to pop, too!). Here’s their schedule if you’re thinking about a boat ride, too!
With over 500 vendors offering everything from antiques to furniture and memorabilia, it might indeed be the largest! We’ve never been up for the event, but Saturday is looking like a perfect day to head up to Warrensburg to peruse the sale for some treasures. Here are the details. Have you been? Would love your tips!
Now that it’s October, Halloween decorations, activities, movies (okay, and candy) are fair game! Fright Fest is back at the Great Escape on weekends from now through October 27, and we say it’s never too early to get into the spirit. Looks like they’ve got tons of haunted rides, shows, and attractions if you’re up for a scare! Get the details here.
Have you checked out Craft on 9 since it opened in it’s new location downtown? We popped in for dinner and a drink this week, and both the food and the space are incredible (so much so that we may head back this weekend!). Highly recommend if you’re out for date night this weekend, and stay tuned for our First Look at Craft on 9 next week!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
P.S. Glens Falls Living launched six months ago this week (time flies!), so we’d love to know - how are we doing? What do you love? What would you like to see more of? Have any ideas you’d like to share? If you have a minute, we’d love it if you would share your feedback by taking our survey here. Thank you so much for your support, enthusiasm, and for sharing our love of this beautiful city and region.
Happy weekend! We gave the geraniums one last hurrah this week, but we’re thinking it’s finally time to pull them and pop some mums and pumpkins in their place - fall is in the air for sure (and we’re not complaining one bit!). This weekend is full of some more fall favorites, and so without further ado, here’s what’s on our radar…
A favorite fall event downtown, this year will feature samples from 30 local restaurants, live music, and a beer garden at the Queensbury Hotel. As a kid, I have fond memories of my grandpa sitting in his chair, mapping out which foods he wanted to sample from each restaurant - and now as an adult, I totally get it! We’ll be bringing our appetite, for sure. Grab the info here!
How could we let the weekend go by without a word about apple picking or cider donuts?! ’Tis the season, and as promised we’re sharing five local apple orchards to visit in our latest Road Trip series post. Check it out here! And now to decide what to make: pie, crisp, or cobbler?!
This season is all about the apple picking, yes, but have you ever been potato picking? We haven’t either, but we’re excited to give it a whirl (and we’re excited for home fries, but that’s another story). Goose Island Potatoes in Argyle has U-pick this weekend and next weekend if you’d like to give it a go! Here are the details.
It’s hard to believe the Glens Falls Symphony has it’s opening night for the 2019-2020 season this weekend - time flies! Their first concert on Sunday not only features a celebration of the music of Spain (aptly titled Flamenco!), but will also incorporate performances by flamenco dancers. If you’re in the mood for a delightful show to cap off the weekend, grab your tickets here!
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
Happy weekend! But more importantly, Happy Balloon Festival Weekend! The sight of 100+ hot air balloons in the sky in the morning still makes me as giddy as an adult as it did when I was a kid, and we’re guessing you all probably feel the same way. And so that said, here’s what we’ll be up to this weekend…
No surprise here! We’ll be up before the sun both days and can’t wait to see those hot air balloons take flight as the sun comes up. And who are we kidding, we’ll probably be there for the evening launches, too. Get all the details, including schedule and the all important directions and parking info here.
What’s an early morning wake up call on a weekend without a good brunch? After some obligatory balloon “chasing”, we’ll inevitably wind up out for breakfast. Where to this year? Your guess is as good as ours, but some of our local favorites are Farmstead Flatbread, Morgan and Co, Farmacy, and of course, the Big Balloon Breakfast at the airport (where the proceeds benefit the Open Door Mission)! Where’s your go-to balloon festival weekend breakfast?
We know it’s all about the balloons, but have you ever visited the craft fair at the Balloon Fest? Zonta holds their fall craft show at the airport during the festival (and not just during the launches - all day!). Grab the details here, and maybe think about arriving early or staying later (and avoiding the traffic!), and browsing the vendors!
And if you’re all Balloon-ed out (or just looking for something to do between launches!), we hear there’s a Live Music Festival up in Bolton Landing on Saturday with everything from swing, to funk, folk, and rock. And, it’s free! Check out the details here.
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
Hi! How was your week? We’ve been reaching for our jackets in the mornings, we’ve got the firewood stacked and ready, and we’re dreaming about some apple pie this weekend. All the best September things. Here’s what else is on our radar this weekend (hope yours is a great one!)…
Since we’ve already started eating too many cider donuts, we’re thinking that stopping by Fit Fest on Saturday might be in our best interest ;) Sounds like there will fitness classes, demos, healthy snacks, and activities for the kiddos - all centered around health and wellness - and all right downtown in City Park. Get the scoop here.
Have you ever been to Vischer Ferry General Store? It’s one of our favorite shops - friendly, cozy, beautifully curated, with delicious goodies to boot. They’re having an Antique and Vintage Market this Saturday, and we’re looking forward to driving down to scoop up some treasures. Find out more here!
We’re firmly in the “bring on fall” camp, and what better way to kick it off than with Harvest Fest downtown on Sunday? Entertainment, food (mac and cheese cook off anyone?), and lots of kids activities, too. Here are all the details!
Just in case you’re still in the mood to peruse beautiful old cars after last weekend’s car show (and yes, Tom most definitely is) Hemmings is hosting the 13th annual Concours d’Elegance up in Lake George this weekend. Grab the details here!
Have the best weekend!
Bri + Tom
P.S. If you’re in the mood for a good book (and a beautiful drive!), check out four small town bookstores to visit here.
Hey there and happy weekend! It was a crisp 48 degrees on our walk with the dogs this morning, and it’s got us thinking ahead to all the fall things. First on our list - picking up some firewood. As much as we love summer, we might love fireplace season just a smidge more :) Here’s what else is looking good this weekend:
Have you ever gone on the Cheese Tour? We went last year for the first time and it was the perfect combination of beautiful views and farms, and delicious cheese (and wine and beer, too!). If you’ve never been, it’s a self-guided tour through the gorgeous back roads of Washington County - with an opportunity to visit (and sample!) at cheesemaking farms, a brewery, and a winery. Looks like a perfect weekend for it, too! Here are the details.
Tom is all about this, of course! First up is Vette Fest in Downtown Glens Falls, which culminates in a Car Show on Maple Street on Sunday. Grab the schedule and all the details on that here. And for an even bigger show, the Adirondack Nationals Car Show is happening in Lake George this weekend with cruises on Canada Street, fireworks, and row after row of classic cars + hot rods. Here’s the scoop and the schedule.
We heard through the grapevine that Fenimore’s at The Q is re-opening this weekend after a month long renovation. We’re excited to see the changes to the space and of course, grab a drink and a bite from their new fall menu! Stay tuned for our First Look, coming soon, and grab their details here.
It still seems kind of early, but we couldn’t help but notice that Hick’s is open for u-pick apples starting this weekend! Truth be told, we’ll probably wait another week before heading out to pick, but these chilly mornings have us ready for some apple crisp and apple pie. Get the latest updates from Hicks here, and watch for a story on some favorite local orchards coming next weekend!
Have a great weekend! Thanks so much for reading.
Bri + Tom
Happy Labor Day weekend! And though it’s the “unofficial” end to summer, we’re still holding on tight to this season for a few more weeks. Enjoy the long weekend, and if you’re in the market for something to do, here’s a few ideas:
But of course! We’re looking forward to some great food and even better company this weekend, and planning to head to the Farmers Market bright and early (hopefully!) Saturday morning to grab everything we need for a feast (and flowers! Did you catch our story on River ‘Rangements?). Will we see you at the Market? Grab their info here.
We were just chatting with our neighbor (Hi Dan!) and he mentioned his visit to Springbrook Hollow today - which got us thinking it’s high time for us to get over there! Tom is due for another quality bottle of gin as G&T season winds down, and rumor has it they serve cocktails on the weekend, too! Here’s their info. Cheers!
With blueberries winding down, and apples not quite ready yet, we were excited to see that Hand Melon Farm has u-pick tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and fall squash starting this weekend! Can’t say we’ve ever gone tomato picking before, so we’re excited to give it a whirl - get the details here.
We were just flipping through Yankee Magazine (okay, Bri was) and saw that this weekend is the Garlic and Herb Festival in Bennington, VT. Plenty of vendors with everything from garlic bulbs, to garlic jelly, to garlic ice cream. We may need to go just to sample that! Looks like there’s also a beer and wine garden and lots to do for the kiddos too - grab the scoop here.
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
Happy weekend! We’re excited for a picture perfect late summer weekend with no big plans other than the Farmer’s Market and seeing where the days take us. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s a few ideas:
We’re psyched that Craft on 9 is heading up to Glens Falls, but before they do, they’re celebrating their last night serving dinner in SGF with a Closing Party on Saturday night. Check out the details here!
Have you been to Lavenlair Farm? They’ve teamed up with Nine Pin Cider for an awesome event tonight with live music, Lavender Lemonade Cider, and a spectacular view for sunset. Grab your tickets and the details here!
We’re looking forward to checking out the Building Stories exhibit at The Chapman which features the stories of downtown buildings. After starting to dig into the history of our own home, we’re super interested in hearing the stories of other houses and buildings in the city. And if it’s just too nice out to go inside this weekend, the exhibit runs through October! Find out more here.
Can’t believe the Fair is already upon us, but this weekend is your last chance to head out to the fairgrounds for shows, rides, games, animals, and of course the food (and beer and wine!). See the schedule and get the scoop here.
Have a great weekend!
Bri + Tom
P.S. Did you catch this week’s My Glens Falls with Dale Mattison? Read it here.
